Mahaprabhu Deep Ashram was located in the historical Jewellery Quarter close to beautiful St Paul's Square - it was the home for Yoga in Daily Life in the West Midlands.
The Birmingham Ashram opened for classes in September 2009 and quickly became renowned for being a quiet haven of peace, despite being just minutes from the noise and busyness of Birmingham City Centre. Due to our teacher/co-ordinator having to relocate elsewhere, the Ashram closed on 30 June 2011.
However the premises have been taken over by friends of Yoga in Daily Life and the new managers have reopened it as Our Urban Retreat Centre (OUR Centre) - a charitable enterprise with a mission statement much in line with our own Ashram ethos: To offer a spiritual sanctuary for wellbeing in the heart of Birmingham that pulsates to global awareness and inspires positive action based on love. We wish them well in this new endeavour and applaud their intention to continue providing healthy and educational activities at these lovely premises, in the spirit of loving selfless service to people of the Birmingham community.
